Art 2 students researched the history of stained glass windows and then created their own rendition of the art form using only paper! Students used exacto knives to make each cut!
The purpose of this blog is to display artwork created by the talented students who make up the OCS High School Art Program. God has given us the ability to create and these students do it well!

WE LOVE COLOR...and icing!!
We kicked off our chapter on color with cookies and icing. Students were only given red, blue, and yellow icing. With those three primary colors, they created an entire color wheel out of cookies and icing!! We had a lot of fun eating our completed wheels too!

Art 3- Chuck Close Inspired Paintings
For the past two months, Art 3 students have been working hard on grid paintings inspired by the artist Chuck Close. They have spent countless hours creating these incredible works of art. Throughout the process, I was completely amazed by their diligence, determination, and positive attitudes. I am so proud to finally reveal to you what they have been working on for so long! These are done on huge canvases that they built and stretched!

Fine Arts Night
Last night was our High School Fine Arts Night. The evening started with a "Gallery Walk". Guests enjoyed baked goods, breads, and hot drinks while viewing lots of incredible art. Every student enrolled in an art class this year had at least one piece hanging in the gallery! After the Gallery Walk, we moved into the auditorium and enjoyed performances by our band, drama department, and choir! It was such a wonderful night for the Arts!
