Art 1: Soap Sculptures

After studying three-dimensional art/media, students carved a boat (sculpture in the round) out of soap. For their second soap sculpture, students were given the opportunity to carve whatever they wanted (sculpture in the round or relief sculpture).

Art 1: Watercolor Leaves

As an introduction into different types of two-dimensional art/media, students used watercolors to create beautiful paintings of leaves. Each student brought in an actual leaf and used it for inspiration. Students used salt and water-flicking techniques to create texture. Students also used  many different arrangements, colors, and color combinations to create interesting compositions. Just like leaves, each student's work is unique!
